Around 300 people rallied in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Friday in support of Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, five days after US forces killed him in Pakistan, an AFP correspondent reported.
The demonstrators were watched on by police as they gathered and unfurled a banner bearing a picture of bin Laden that declared he “is a symbol of the jihad.”
“Obama is the terrorist, not Osama,” and “Osama’s blood was not shed in vain,” they chanted as 100 police and military personnel stood nearby.
