The Environment Protection Department of the City District Government Lahore imposed Rs 13,400 fine on owners of smokey and noisy vehicles on Friday.
According to EPD sources, monitoring teams of the department checked 182 vehicles on Allama Iqbal Road, Choburgi and Lower
Mall to assess their fitness according to EPD standards.
The EPD teams found 60 vehicles below EPD standards. Out of 60, 28 vehicles were polluting the air while the others were noisy, sources added.
