‘KP govt not taken into confidence over OBL action’

Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mian Iftikhar Hussain has confirmed that provincial government was not taken into confidence regarding US military action against Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad. “Consultation with KP government doesn’t matter but it is serious if federal government was also ignored,” he remarked while talking to reporters in Peshawar on Wednesday. Hussain termed the assassination of Osama Bin Laden ‘a good omen’, which according to him could help them in combating terrorism.
Answering a question, he said the US action in Abbottabad was generating multiple questions and the federal government should adopt a realistic approach while answering them. Security forces, federal and
KP government should work together in this regard, he said. “Our ignorance of Osama Bin Laden’s presence in Abbottabad could reflect our failure,” Hussain said, adding that our silence could also be questioned. In both the cases, he said, “world question our performances.”
Answering a question, the provincial information minister said, “The situation is intolerant if the US didn’t take Pakistan into confidence regarding such important military action.” Earlier, Hussain attended a condolence reference in the memory of legendary comedian Moeen Akhtar and known Pushto singer Rabia Tabbassum. The reference was organized by Cultural Journalists forum. Besides Hussain, leading artists, writers, singers and journalists also paid glowing tributes to late artist and singer.
