Two die from poisonous gas

At least two people died and one was injured owing to poisonous gas. Reportedly, the poisonous gas leaked out in a local rice factory at Sahiwal-Arifwala Road due to some technical fault. When the owner of the factory Babar, along with another man Waqas, entered the factory, both of them expired instantly while a labourer who came there to watch them went senseless. Two girls abducted: At least two girls were abducted in separate incidents. In the first incident, Muhammad Shan, a resident of Noor Shah, and four other accused abducted Ladi Bibi with an intention to rape her. In the second incident, Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Chak No 165-A-9L, along with two other accused abducted Shazia and escaped.
ACCUSED ARRESTED, DRUGS SEIZED: District police conducted special raids, arrested 27 accused and recovered 735 grams of charas, 17 liters of liquor and illegal weapons. Reportedly, following the instructions of Sahiwal District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Ayaz Saleem, the police arrested Zaheer, Abbas, Haider Ali, Ejaz, Rashid Ali, Irshad, Bhadar Sher, Irfan, Muhammad Shahid, Aurangzeb, Ahmed Javed, Iftikhar, Naveed Masih, Nazir Ahmed, Muhammad Ali, Iqbal, Bashir and Fareed Boota and recovered 735 grams of charras, 17 liters of liquor, seven pistols, one carbine and one rifle. The DPO stressed the district police to be vigilant and active against terrorists, antisocial elements, robbers, dacoits, unlicensed arms and drug pushers so that people might lead their lives peacefully.
