Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Karachi Organising Committee member Farooq Baig, who gunned down in Bagh-e-Korangi on Monday, was laid to rest on Tuesday at a graveyard in Korangi. According to a press statement, MQM Rabita Committee’s Anees Ahmed Qaimkhani, Mustafa Kamal, Saif Yar Khan, Qasim Ali Raza and provincial ministers Sheikh Muhammad Afzal and Khalid bin Wilayat, members of the National and provincial assemblies as well as large number of party leaders, activists and sympathizers attended the funeral.
Earlier, the funeral prayer for the deceased was offered at Imran Shaheed Park Landhi No 4. The soyem of the slain MQM leader will be held on May 4 at Lal Qila Ground in Azizabad. Quran khawani and fateha will also be organised for the late Baig between Zuhr and Asr prayers today (Wednesday) at the Lal Qila Gound. Quran Khawani and fateha for the slain MQM leader will also be held at Haqqani mosque between Zuhr and Asr prayers near the deceased’s residence in Landhi No 3.
