A joint meeting of the National Assembly, Senate House Committee and Senate Library Committee was held at the Parliament House on Tuesday in which participants expressed their reservations on inadequate security arrangements at the Parliament House and Parliament Lodges. The committee met under the co-chairmanship of National Assembly Acting Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi and Senate Deputy Chairman Jan Muhammad Jamali to discuss the security arrangements.
The committees directed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police to beef up security at the lodges and house besides taking strict security measures to avoid any untoward incident. They also asked for strict implementation of the standard operation procedure and demanded that no visitor should be allowed to enter the house without proper security check and entry pass.
