Lahore High Court Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed sought reply from the Ministry Of Religious Affairs by May 19 on a petition challenging the performing of Haj and Umrah by politicians and government functionaries on state’s expense.
Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffrey filed the petition, submitting that since Pakistan’s economy was moving on a downward trend, high officials must be barred from performing such religious trips on government’s expense.
