The great bluffers

There is no denying the fact that bluffing is one of the criterion of our political leaders, whether in the government or on the opposition benches. In other words, we can call them compulsive liars. The present government have appointed two ministers who have outclassed all others in telling lies or bluffing the nation. One has resigned to contest Bhutto reference case in the Supreme Court and claims that it would not be him but Bhutto himself speaking in the court i.e., the spirit of Bhutto has been transformed into him. This is just the start of his lies and bluff.

The video clips have already shown him supporting Gen Zia-ul-Haq, the executioner of ZA Bhutto with anti-Bhutto slogans. As regards his doctorate, he has yet to prove the existence of the university where he submitted his dissertation and was awarded a PhD degree. The other great bluffer is very good in making deals and fixing matches with leaders of various dissenting parties. After every bomb attack; suicide or from a remote control or a target killing in Karachi, he makes a public statement with great confidence that his agencies have apprehended the criminals and have reached the mastermind and soon he would expose them to the public.

It is over three years that he has been bluffing the nation and no criminal thus caught has been either exposed or publicly hanged. The police, however, show some persons with their heads covered with cloth sheet and handcuffed. They are so-called suspects or criminals. No one knows who they are whether the actual ones or just a bluff.

The law and order situation in the country has gone from bad to worse and the common man still feels insecure once he leaves his house either for markets, or to mosque or to a shrine of a saint.

The PM makes hollow speeches in the assembly and claims that no one can touch the elected government (on bogus votes) and it would complete its term of five years. He paints very rosy picture of the country and does not hesitate to recount their achievements during last three years, not forgetting to mention the sacrifices of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and ZA Bhutto.
