The Punjab government will complete development projects worth Rs 280 million in PP 103 by the end of June 2011 at all costs. These projects of the public health engineering and building departments include the completion of GT Road from the River Chenab to Zafar Ali Khan Bypass Chowk, upgrade of government primary schools at Mazoorabad, Bharoki Cheema, Chack Baig, Dhonkal, Maniwala and Natt kalan. The work is being done rapidly on all these projects.
COMMISSIONER VISITS WHEAT PROCUREMENT CENTRES: Gujranwala Commissioner Saeed Wala visited wheat purchase centres at Ghakhar Mandi and Jora Sian and also checked a wheat godown. DFC Roheel Butt told the commissioner that 19 wheat procurement centres had been set up in the division of which eight were in Wazirabad subdivision.
He added Gujranwala Division would achieve the procurement target. He also said wheat bags would be doubled at every wheat purchase centre on Wednesday (today). The commissioner ordered the food and revenue departments to facilitate the wheat growers. He added there must not be any inconvenience to the farmers at any wheat purchase centre. The Wazirabad DDO (revenue) and the high officials of the two departments accompanied the commissioner.
