Most of our people prefer Indian dramas. People still watch and like them. But I have observed that everything is in extreme in Indian dramas. They do not have sophisticated story, they have endless stories, same melodarama in every other serial; they just change the names of the characters. If a new serial with a different story is started later, it is also taken towards the same story. Same incidents occur in all serials many times.
On the other hand, Pakistani dramas are based on reality. They focus on social issues. Every serial is different from the other and mostly stories are reality based. Indian characters are much emotional, sometimes behave like fools. Heroines are as innocent as angles. And leading characters never die and if they die they come back again, no one knows where from. Indian dramas are commercial based focusing on saris, jewellery and make up, so whatever the character or situation is these things must be there in proper form. While Pakistani actors’ dressing is always according to the demanding situation.
Pakistani dramas are far better than the Indian ones. Pakistani dramas let us know about different classes, lifestyle, their problems and issues. And Indian dramas always show the same irritating things. We, Pakistanis, should promote our own dramas which are more interesting and thoughtful instead of admiring others with routine storyline and pathetic performance.
