The alliance between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) will prove durable and both the parties may continue the partnership even in next elections, said senior analyst and Editor Pakistan Today Arif Nizami.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said in prevailing political scenario, the grouping was in the interest of both the parties as well as the country. He said the PML-N was following the policy of confrontation with almost all political parties. Arif rejected the PML-N’s criticism on the alliance, saying it had no moral ground to criticise as it joined hands with the forward bloc of the PML-Q in the Punjab Assembly.
He said that the PML-N and Chaudhry brothers had remained engaged in talks for forming an alliance, but the process could not prove successful.

  1. EXCELlENT EDITORIALS in Mr. Arif Nizami's paper…I hpe he continueto wrte such pieces as they provide the readers with newer ideas as about matters of national concern..I am myself highly disappointed in the policies of PML N. Strangely, being the OPPOSITION it declared that it was not interested in having the present government go home! But it wanted the system to continue. Walter Bagehot would tremble in his grave if he knew this is a the modern interpretation of the British government system of having an Opposition in the first place. I have my doubts though about this PML Q development and the optimism expressed by Mr. Nazami….
I will try to write something for this highly intellectual paper of Pakistan! Farooq Hassan
