Three killed in Lyari clash

Two activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and one of the People’s Amn Committee (PAC) were killed in a clash between two groups at Shah Waliullah Road in Lyari.
The two JSQM activists were identified as Muhammad Adnan and Muhammad Asif and the PAC man as Waseem Abbas. Their bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi.
Lyari Town Police Officer Javed Baloch told Pakistan Today that the two groups quarrelled over a minor issue. JSQM activists allegedly opened fire at the PAC’s Waseem Abbas, killing him on the spot.
Later, other PAC men killed the two JSQM workers to avenge their associate’s murder, the police official added.
Separately, a rickshaw driver was gunned down by unidentified people in Block 6 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Gulshan-e-Iqbal SHC Kanson Dean said that Qurban Ali, 34, a resident of Hazara Goth, was standing outside Abu Hanifa mosque when two men on a motorcycle shot him dead. The victim’s body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
A police constable was found dead in his home in the Gulshan-e-Raheem area of Memon Goth. Memon Goth Duty Officer said that Abdul Majeed, 30, was a police constable at his police station and the he could have committed suicide.
In another incident, the body of a 20-year-old man was found in bushes in the Phul Goth area of Shah Latif Town. Shah Latif Town SHO Dhan-e-Raj said that the victim, Ghulam Qadir, was missing since the last two days and had no political affiliations.
The Pakistan Rangers killed an alleged bandit and arrested seven others in a house-to-house search operation in the Phul Goth area of Shah Latif Town during the wee hours of Saturday.
The alleged bandit was identified as Mehboob Ali Brohi and the arrested seven people were taken to an undisclosed place for interrogation. The Rangers claimed that they recovered two Kalashnikovs, two repeaters and two TT pistols from the seven people’s possession.
