The most controversial deputy chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Javed Zia Qazi, retired on Saturday after reaching the age of superannuation, but he is reluctant to leave charge despite a notification issued by the FBR. Qazi is not leaving charge as his case is pending with the apex court regarding the genuineness of his appointment. Qazi has contended that despite reaching the age of superannuation, he would continue in office until year 2013 since he was appointed for a tenure of three years. Qazi was looking after the affairs of NAB after the apex court disqualified Justice (r) Syed Deedar Hussain Shah as the NAB chairman. Moreover, the tenure of Akbar Tarar, NAB additional prosecutor, also expired on April 28.
