KP to exempt home-based businesses from taxation

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to move a bill in the provincial assembly to exempt widows, divorced women, special people and home-based businesses from all taxes. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Social Welfare and Women Development Sitara Ayaz while talking to media men at her office said the provincial government would soon launch a special motorcycle scheme for disabled students while special reforms in “Darul Aman” were also on the card.
The minister said the widows, divorced women and special people, running small scale business at homes, would be exempted from all taxes and a bill had been prepared for legislation, she said. Sitara told media men that when she resume the charge of the Social welfare and Women Development Department, it was known only for special children education and wheel-chairs but in the last three years concerted efforts had been made to achieve phenomenal goals in the shape of constituting women commission for the status of women, legislation regarding child protection, establishing of business development centre for women entrepreneurs and child protection bureau for street children at Peshawar.
Sitara said the provincial government had also decided to establish housing facility for working women for which land was already acquired in Hayatabad. She described women development as her primary concern and said women had been given 10% quota in government jobs while 30% share were allotted to them in Bacha Khan Khapal Rozgaar Scheme.
