Another POL punch for comsumers

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Saturday announced an increase of Rs 1.80 to Rs 9.32 per litre in prices of various petroleum products, effective from today (Sunday). Percentage wise the price has been increased in the range of 1.8 percent to 11.8 percent. The price of petrol has been increased by Rs 4.85 per litre from Rs 83.56 to Rs 88.41 per litre, HOBC by Rs 1.80 from Rs 98.12 to Rs 99.97 per litre, high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 4.42 per litre from Rs 92.89 to Rs 97.31 per litre, light diesel oil (LDO) by Rs 9.32 per litre from Rs 78.98 to Rs 88.30 per litre, and kerosene oil by Rs 5.80 per litre from Rs 84.10 to Rs 89.70 per litre.
OGRA ED Jawad Nasim told reporters despite increase in petroleum prices, the government would still bear Rs 9 billion burden for the month of May and the government had absorbed a total burden of Rs 35 billion. He said from this month, the government had discontinued the subsidy of Rs 1.70 on Kerosene oil.
