Officials of the Interior Ministry on Saturday told a high-level meeting that another 107 people had gone missing from various parts of the country since January 2011. An official source in the ministry told Pakistan Today that Interior Minister Rehman Malik was informed in a meeting that forced disappearances did not seem coming to an end, and more and more cases were being reported every passing day. He said 35 people from Punjab, 42 from KPK, 12 from Balochistan, nine from Sindh, three from FATA, three from AJK and three from federal capital were missing since January 2011. The source said the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances (CIED) had traced 56 missing people in custody of law-enforcement and intelligence agencies, while 176 were yet to be traced.
