Those who attacked the restaurant of a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader have no connection with the Pakistan People’s Party because the present government believes in democratic values and condemns violence, Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Saturday.
“The government will take action against those who violated the law and all political parties have democratic rights if they follow the Constitution in letter and spirit,” he added.
The minister said that the government is taking stern measures to bring an end to the extortion culture in Karachi and it believes in the supremacy of law.
He said that the business community of Karachi has complete government protection and traders do not need to fear. “The government has initiated a campaign against criminals with the help of the police and other law enforcement agencies. The law and order situation in Karachi is gradually improving and we are providing protection to traders to enable them to work smoothly,” he said.
