Unknown miscreants short dead former Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) member of Sindh assembly Liaquat Ali Qureshi on Saturday.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain, Babar Ghauri, Farooq Sattar and various other members of MQM strongly condemned this act of terrorism, and appealed to the government to take notice of this incident.
According to media reports, Liaquat Ali Qureshi was going back to home that is located near Faisal Chorungi at Gulzar Hijri from Abu Al Hassan Asfahani road, when unknown miscreants fired on his car.
Liaquat Ali Qureshi could not recover from the injuries and died on the spot.
Late Liaquat Ali Qureshi was the former member of MQM in Sindh assembly and also was the member of Mutahida Lawyer’s forum.
Police took his car into custody after the incident whereas the dead body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
48 year old Liaquat Ali Qureshi joined MQM at the age of 17. He was nominated as the member of Sindh assembly in the elections of 1993 and 1997 from Liyari. He also remained the member of MQM treasury committee.
His left behind family includes two widows and five children. His burial was done in the Shuda graveyard.
