Anjuman-e-Tajiran camps against power outages

Anjuman-e-Tajiran and trade union organisations set up a protest camp in Sadar Bazaar Chowk against prolonged and unscheduled power outages while a group of traders also observed token hunger strike in the same camp. While addressing the protesters, Anjuman-e-Tajiran office bearers announced that a complete strike would be observed in the town on Sunday and a rally would be taken out against the FESCO officials.
Meanwhile, the district bar association (DBA) members also observed a complete strike against power outages. They held a meeting presided by DBA President Mian Farrukh Iqbal who demanded stern action against the local FESCO officials. ASI, HIS SON INJURED: A speedy bus seriously injured an assistant sub inspector (ASI) and his son at Gojra. Reportedly, Toba police ASI Liaqat Ali and his 12-year-old son were on their way to a locality on Gojra-Painsara Road when the bus hit their motorcycle injuring them seriously. Both of them were admitted in the Gojra Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital in critical condition.
EDUCATORS HOLD RALLY: The Education Department’s educators took out a rally to condemn their department’s officials for allegedly de-regularising their services. While addressing the participants of the rally, their leader Muhammad Rafiq claimed that they were informed that all recruited educators would be regularised during 2010 but they were stranded to know that their services had been de-regularised. He warned that if their services were not confirmed, they would continue their protest.
FAMILY LOOTED: Reportedly, Maqbool Ahmad and his relatives were on their way to Faisalabad by their car. When they reached near Chak 187 GB, three motorcyclists intercepted and snatched Rs 4,400, five mobile phones and gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees at gunpoint. Meanwhile, the dacoits looted a passenger Riaz near Pirmahal. He was on his way to his town by a rickshaw when four people intercepted and snatched Rs 12,000 and a cell phone at gun point.
KKF, CHEN ONE ORGANISE FREE MEDICAL CAMP: The Khidmat-e-Khalaq Foundation (KKF) and the Chen-One have organised a three-day free medical camp in the Tehsil Municipal Administration’s (TMA) park. Local industrialist Mian Kashif Ashfaq said that 2,000 patients would be vaccinated against Hepatitis B virus free of cost during the camp. He added that the KKF had earlier organised six such camps where more than 15,000 people were screened for Hepatitis. He said that TMA Administrator Salman Ghani would inaugurate the camp where the Faisalabad Liver Trust Centre Chairman Dr zahid Yasim Hashmi and other expert doctors would examine the patients.
LECTURER’S HOUSE LOOTED: Dacoits looted a lecturer’s house in Kamalia the other day. Professor Kashif Rizwan of Mohalla Sheikhan Wala told Kamalia police that four outlaws entered his house and took away gold ornaments, mobile phones and other valuables worth more than Rs 250,000 at gunpoint. Meanwhile, thieves took away an air cooler, a water pump, chairs and electric fans of a government girls’ primary school.
