Two SSP activists among seven killed in Karachi

At least seven people, including a woman, were gunned down by pillion riders in a fresh spate of targeted violence in the city on Thursday, police said. Two persons were killed in two separate incidents of targeted killing in Khuda Ki Basti, Surjani Town. A 34-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Gulshan-e-Surjani, Surjani Town.
A few minutes later, another 19-year-old man was targeted in the same area. Surjani Town Police Station House Officer (SHO) Mussadiq Rafique said the identity of both victims could not be ascertained. He said the bodies were moved to Edhi Morgue after an autopsy at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). He said police had registered a first information report (FIR) and started investigations. Two brothers were shot dead by three pillion riders in Furniture Market, Manzoor Colony.
Baloch Colony SHO Waheed Ahmed said the brothers were standing outside a shop at Chaudhry Rehmat Ali Road when the pillion riders opened fire on them. Both were seriously wounded and succumbed to their injuries on way to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Ahmed said both brothers, who were identified as Khalid and Kamran, were associated with the banned Sipah-e-Sahaba outfit.
Another man was killed by unidentified pillion riders at Hawks Bay Road and a woman was gunned down near Farhan School, Orangi Town late on Thursday night. Separately, a 15-day-old corpse of a 19-year-old man was found from a drain in Azizabad.
