I believe in aesthetics and the marvels or nature; I am a dreamer,” Tabinda Chinoy was quoted as saying according to a press release issued by the Canvas Gallery where Chinoy’s latest exhibition titled ‘Let Hope Live’ is running until May 5.
Chinoy’s canvas is a mirror to the different periods one might experience to reach the safe haven of contentment, serenity and inner peace.
“Seeing women in states of ennui or emotional paralysis has been the impetus to my painting style: a flourish of brushstrokes inured to turmoil, conflict, human poignancy and innovation,” she said.
She is a dreamer striving for perfection through visualisation of fantasy. It is through a combination of her artworks that she has tried to reflect upon the ideal world – urban and rural. “My being is firmly rooted in a reality that is often ugly, which I seek to make less so. Can I achieve this? Through my canvas, I can but try,” she concludes.
