Aqeel Khan and his younger brother Jalil Khan clinched the title of Men’s doubles event of the CDA Margalla National Ranking Tennis Tournament by beating Usman Ijaz and Sadan-ul-Haq 2-0 in the final here at PTF Tennis Complex on Thursday. The final score-line was 6-2 and 6-1.
In the men’s singles fixture, Aqeel and Jalil set their clash in the final by winning their semi-finals. The final will be played on Friday (today) at the same venue. On Thursday, the semi-finals were played. In the first semi-final, Aqeel Khan beat Yasir Khan in straight sets at 6-2, 6-1 and 7-5 while in the second semi-final second seed Jalil Khan stunned Imran Shaukar with the score-line of 6-1,7-5 and 7-5.
In the boys under-18 singles, Mohammad Abid will face Faizan Khurram in the final today. In the first semi-final Mohammad Abid beat Raja Shahid in straight sets 2-0 while Faizan Khurram outplayed Ahmed Chaudhryin straight set 2-0 in similar style 2-0 in the second semi-final.
