Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader MNA Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said on Thursday that his party office-bearers had authorised the possibility of the PML-Q’s inclusion in the federal government.
Talking to reporters after condoling with former Lahore district nazim Mian Amir Mahmood on his mother’s death, Elahi said they had consulted around 300 politicians and party stalwarts from 4 provinces about joining the coalition government, adding that party office-bearers from all four provinces had granted authority to them on any decision regarding it.
Elahi said they were joining PPP coalition in the interest of the nation and the country. He said he had no interest in ministries and his party was only concerned with solving the problems of the people. He said the PML-Q wanted to bring all political parties into the fold of the national agenda, adding that the party was also in consultations with the MQM and the JUI-F on this issue.
Referring to division of provinces, Elahi said that it was in the manifesto of PML-Q to create new provinces saying that the demand of Hazara and south Punjab provinces reflected the public aspirations and these should be adhered to by all the political forces in larger interest of the federation of Pakistan.
“Let us rise above petty, personal, creed or linguistic prejudices and let us think for the stability and development of Pakistan. Muslim League had waged the struggle for the creation of Pakistan and this party would make sure that the security and integrity of the federation is ensured and the people from all areas get their rights,” said Elahi.
