Rs 50 million IT project on cards

A Japanese company is set to begin working on a, Rs 50-million information technology (IT) project in the SITE area. The project is expected to be completed in five years. This was disclosed during a meeting between Sindh Commerce and Industries Minister Rauf Siddiqui and a delegation comprising Data Transferring System (DTS) Chairman Hero Nao Kahashi and Director Kahori Anamoa on Wednesday.
The Japanese business group delegation informed the minister at the meeting that the IT project would start in June this year. Initially, the project would provide jobs to at least 300 youth and within the next three years, around 1,000 youth would be able to get employment opportunities with IT training.
Expressing deep sorrow on the disaster in Japan caused by earthquake and the resulting tsunami, Siddiqui said after the natural calamity a large number of small industries in Japan are being transferred to other countries and the Japanese investors should invest in Pakistan as the best investment opportunities are available in Sindh.
“We will provide full security to your businesses along with cheap labour, land and the due government support,” he asserted.
The visiting delegation was also briefed on the importance of the Afza Altaf project at the Habib Bank Chowrangi in SITE.
