If there will be any change in the country, it will come through a ‘judicial martial law’, said Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara on Wednesday. He was speaking with journalists at his residence Kingri House after meeting with Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid. Pagara said that all Muslim leaguers are opportunists and will become a part of any army government if it comes to rule the country.
“The Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) did not consult us about their alliance with the government but I do not think the PML-Q is allying with the government because it wants to save Moonis Elahi,” he added Referring to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s suggestion of making Karachi a separate province, the PML-F chief said that any conscious person cannot speak about breaking Sindh.
However, he added, that Karachi may become the capital of the country. Pagara also demanded that the population census should be carried out under the supervision of the army. Meanwhile, AML chief Sheikh Rashid was of the view that Nawaz Sharif is the main hurdle in the unification of all Muslim leagues, however, if all the leagues do not unite, it would also be against the interests of Sharif. He said that Pakistan has become the hub of opportunistic politics.
“The government is diverting attention from the real issues and the people are not being taking into confidence,” he added. Replying to questions, Rashid said that Fazlur Rehman would not become a part of the government while he could only comment on the issue if the matter between the government and the PML-Q get finalised. Regarding drone attacks, the AML chief said that if the large political parties of Karachi hold sit-in against drone attacks, they would stop within 72 hours.
