A complete shutter-down strike was observed in various towns of Balochistan, including Khuzdar, Awaran and Mashkay on Wednesday to condemn the killing of five Baloch missing people, whose bullet-riddled bodies were found from Khuzdar and Kech districts on Monday. The Baloch National Front, an alliance of various nationalist parties and organisations, had given the strike call. Markets and shops remained closed while traffic remained thin on the roads in Khuzdar, Awaran and Mashkay.
Policemen were deployed to all sensitive areas to avoid untoward incidents. Meanwhile, unidentified militants fired a rocket targeting a check-post of Frontier Corps in Awaran District. The rocket exploded in a deserted area near the check-post, however, no loss of life and damage to the check-post was reported.
