The Met office forecasted on Wednesday that a weak westerly weather system is likely to enter Balochistan late on Thursday, which is likely to cause isolated rain and dust-storms across northeastern Balochistan and in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature recorded in Lahore was 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 22 degrees Celsius. The day temperatures in the plains of Punjab were six to eight degrees above the normal values of maximum temperatures.
The increasing trend in temperatures is likely to continue until Thursday. The increased temperatures in the country’s upper parts have increased the snow melting process; thus increasing the inflows into major water reservoirs and rivers.
