Rs 20 million being spent on Toba road projects

MNA Haji Junaid Anwaar Chaudhry has said that Rs 20 million were being spent out of his grant on the construction of different roads of Toba. While addressing the district development committee meeting here with DCO Amanullah in the chair, he stated that in the past the TMA had ignored development of the town, but now he would give top priority to it. On his recommendation, the DCO directed Deputy Director Development Dr Naveed Ahmad to supervise the completion of the development schemes of the Toba TMA.
VILLAGERS STaGE DEMO AGAINST FESCO: Scores of villagers of Chak 384-JB, Easepur, staged a demonstration outside the FESCO office over their failure to repair their power transformer lying out of order for three days. They reached the FESCO office on tractor-trailers and shouted slogans against the officials. Later, talks were held between the FESCO representatives and the protesters with the help of the city SHO. The protesters dispersed on the assurance of the FESCO officials that the old transformer would be replaced within 24 hours.
WORKERS DEMAND RS 15,000 MINIMUM SALARY: Labour Party Pakistan (LPP) central spokesman Farooq Tariq has said neither the federal nor the provincial governments were doing anything for the poor and working classes. He added programmes like Benazir Income Support Scheme and Sasti Roti were just wastage of money and a bid to get cheap popularity.
Addressing the activists of different trade unions at the LPP office, he stated that the previous rulers had destroyed precious government institutions by privatising them. He added the rulers had planned to ruin the institutions like Wapda, OGDC and Pakistan Post through privatization in the next phase.
