The 3rd PHF Junior Super Hockey League started here at the National Hockey Stadium with wins for Lahore and Faisalabad while PHF Academy and Multan played a one-all draw on the opening day on Wednesday.
President Pakistan Hockey Federation Qasim Zia was the chief guest of the opening ceremony that was held during the Faisalabad and Karachi match. On the opening day three matches were played while today (Thursday) four matches will be played with Quetta taking on Lahore, Faisalabad facing PHF Academy, Multan meeting Peshawar and Sialkot clashing with Karachi.
PHF Academy gained lead over Multan in the eighth minute of the match when Zohain Ashraf successfully converted the penalty but tussle for lead and equaliser continued between the two teams till Faisal Qadir responded in the same fashion in the 55th minute for Multan. With his goal their matches ended in a stalemate.
Lahore beat Peshawar by three goals to nil. They opened the scoring in the 15th minute through Hafiz Sardar while Mohammad Fahid and Usman Aslam came up with one goals each in the second half to ensure clear cut win. Fahid’s goal was off the penalty corner in the 41st minute and Usman Aslam managed the goal on short-corner in the 57th minute.
Faisalabad, after leading the match by one goal by half time against Karachi, banged in another three goals in the second half to win 4-0. Bilal Qadir, Mohammad Adnan and Dilber Hussain were the scorers and they earned lime light in the 28th, 42nd, 48th and 69th minutes of the match with the latter scoring two goals.
