Parachinar youth rally for road

Hundreds of youth from Parachinar and adjoining areas of Upper Kurram Agency, who have been protesting for the last six days in Islamabad against the closure of the Thal-Parachinar road by militants, on Wednesday demanded resignation of Interior Minister Rehman Malik over what they termed Malik’s false assurance to the National Assembly for reopening of the road. The protesters alleged that Interior Minister Rehman Malik was ‘only good at’ issuing false statements. Hundreds of youth from affected areas of Parachinar had assembled in front of Islamabad Press Club from where they took out rally towards the Parliament House.
Holding condemning placards in their hands, they raised slogans against government for not paying attention towards their miseries. “Taliban have been slaughtering people of Shia community…….road that linked Parachinar with other parts of country has been blocked for the last four years, but government was paying no heed towards this grave issue,” said protesting Muhammad Ismail, a university student. The protesters vowed they would continue protest until the reopening of Tal-Parachinar Road.
