New spell of rains to start from Thursday

Arif Mehmood, Director General of Metrological Department forcasted the new spell of rains from Thursday
and said that it will enter the country from Baloachistan and will last till Saturday.
Arif Mehmood, talking to PTV on Wednesday, said temprature of Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain 26 to 28 degree centigrade in coming two days while Northren Punjab, KPK, Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Northern parts of the country will come under the new spell of rains.
DG added the country is under grip of heat. Temprature of Larkana and Bahawalnagar was recorded 46 degree centigrade, Multan 44c, Lahore and Faisalalabad 42c.
Arif maintained that after the current heat wave more thunderstroms are expected than rains in coming days. Previous rains have increased the dead level of dams, like Mangla dam is 77 feet above the dead level
likewise Tarbela is 28 feet above.
Arif said these two reservoirs get more water when snow sarts melting and this becomes possible only when the temperature of Skardu reaches 20 to 25c. He added that the temprature of Skardu was more than 28c on Tuesday and will increase to 30c probably in next week owing to that snow will start melting.
Resultantly water level in dams and generation of hydro power will be increased and loadshedding of electricity will be controlled to a limited level.
