National water reservoirs’ filling mounts by 4,000 cusecs

Filling of national water reservoirs has mounted up by 4,000 cusecs as more water continues to arrive in Tarbela and Mangla dams.
According to the officials of Indus River System Authority (IRSA), after arrival of additional 4,000 cusecs the release of water from Tarbela Dam has been increased by 5,000 cusecs for additional production of hydral power.
Tarbela Dam’s water level has gone up at 1397.72 feet means 18.72 feet more from the dead level while usable water reservoir has increased to 238,000 acre feet.
Total 1,568 mega watts of hydral power are being generated currently by 9 units of Tarbela Dam; the arrival of water is 43,400 cusecs while release is 45,000 cusecs.
Water arrival in Mangla Dam has also increased by 4,000 cusecs. Its water level has touched 1,118 feet means 78 feet above from the dead level while usable water reservoir has increased to 1,034,000 acre feet.
Current arrival of water in Mangla Dam is 67,203 cusecs while release is 50,000 cusecs.
