Man kills brother for stealing 40-kg wheat in Hafizabad

A man killed his younger brother for stealing 40 kilograms of wheat in village Solingi Kharal near Hafizabad. According to details, Javed Iqbal, a younger brother of Allah Ditta of village Solingi Kharal, stole 40kg of wheat from the house of Allah Ditta the other day and sold it. On the day of the incident, Allah Ditta quarreled with Javed over this issue and opened fire, killing him instantly.
LANDLORD IMPREGNATES GIRL: An influential landlord’s son raped a 15-year-old daughter of his servant for two and a half months and impregnated her. Reportedly, Allah Ditta had been serving in the house of Chaudhry Bahawal Sher, a resident of village Meerakh Bhattian, for many years.
The landlord and his son kept Allah Ditta, his wife and daughter in confinement and often tortured them. Ghulam Abbas, the son of Chaudhry Bahawal Sher, kept Humaira, daughter of Allah Ditta, raped her for two and a half months. As a result, the girl got pregnant, escaped from the confinement of the landlord and reached her aunt’s home the other day. Humaira has appealed to the Punjab chief minister to help her and save her parents from the illegal confinement of the landlord.
MOTHER OF TWO ABDUCTED: At least three armed bandits abducted a mother of two children.
Reportedly, Munazza was alone the other day when three armed accused, Sarfraz, Iftikhar and Bushra, stormed into her house, abducted her at gunpoint and fled away. The city police have registered a case but no arrest has been made so far.
SHO SUSPENDED: Hafizabad District Police Officer (DPO) Abdur Rab has suspended Jalalpur Bhattian station house officer (SHO) on the charges of supporting land grabbers. Reportedly, some people occupied the land of Muhammad Anayat in Jalalpur Bhattian, but the SHO, instead of taking action against them, supported them. Muhammad Inayat approached the district police officer (DPO) and narrated the whole story.
The DPO suspended SHO Inspector Tahir Majeed after an enquiry and posted Arshad Saikhoo as the Jalalpur Bhattian SHO. Meanwhile, talking to a delegation of journalists from Pindi Bhattian, the DPO said the police department would be made corruption-free and added there was no room in the department for corrupt and negligent officials.
STANDING WHEAT CROP REDUCED TO ASHES: At least six acres of standing wheat crop was reduced to ashes in village Sandhwan Tarar in mysterious circumstances. Reportedly, Muhammad Qaim’s wheat crop was ready for harvesting in village Sandhawan Tarar when six acres of the standing crop caught fire in mysterious circumstances and was reduced to ashes.
‘GOVT FAILS TO START WHEAT PROCUREMENT’: Gujranwala Division Kisan Board President Amanullah Chattha has said the government has failed to start procurement of wheat as tokens have not been given for the delivery of gunny bags in Hafizabad.
He said farmers were compelled to sell their wheat at the grain market where commission agents were purchasing wheat at the rate of Rs 825 per 40 kilograms, facing a loss of Rs 150 per 40 kilograms.
H said the decision of closing the PASSCO’s zonal office in Hafizabad was against the interests of the farmers and demanded an immediate launch of wheat procurement campaign in the district.
