A man who had filed a complaint with the provincial ombudsman managed to get his dues worth Rs 1.07 million from the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYPD) on Tuesday.
Provincial Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik handed over the money in the form of a cheque to the complainant, Masood Razaque Qureshi.
The complainant, who is the director of the Technology Force Inc, in his application had stated that he was engaged for imparting computer training to 317 youths under the BBSYPD training programme.
But later, he was denied payment of Rs 1.3 million by the BBSYDP management.
He received some of the payment but the remaining was withheld illegally by the management.
The complainant approached the provincial coordinator of the BBSYDP several times for his dues but to no avail.
Therefore he approached the ombudsman for justice.
The case was examined in detail at the Ombudsman Secretariat and the finding established the legitimacy of the complainant’s claim.
The ombudsman, in his order, directed the provincial coordinator to release the withheld payment within 30 days.
