Busy budget bees get a free ride home

With budget preparations set to go into full swing, officials of the Sindh government expect to work late nights. But the government has decided to reward its busy budget bees: those staying at work till late night will get a free ride home, Pakistan Today has learnt.
Sources said that the drop facility will run till as late as after midnight, depending on the workload for the day. The work hours for each day during the budget period are likely to vary between 7pm and midnight.
Though each department of the Sindh government contributes in drafting the budget, most of the work is carried out by officials of Finance and Planning & Development departments. While, the planning and department has its official vans being used to ferry the officials.
The Finance Department, through a letter dated March 28, had invited bids for rental vehicles that could provide late night drop facility to its staff from May till the announcement of the fiscal budget, sources told Pakistan Today.
The bids were subsequently accepted and transport operators have been selected for the purpose, sources explained, claiming that their selection was in line with the guidelines defined in the Sindh Public Procurement Rules-2010.
The drop facility will run along the following routes:
I) Gora Kabristan, G-R-2, Mehmoodabad, PECHS Society, Sindhi Muslim Society, Malir, Malir Halt and Khokhrapar (15 seater)
II) Shaheen Complex, Teen Talwar, Punjab Colony, Korangi Crossing, Landhi and Sherpao Colony (25 seater)
III) Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Jauhar Chowrangi, University Road, Safari Park, Rashid Minhas Road, Gulshan Chowrangi, Nipa Chowrangi, Safoora Goth, Sachal Goth, Dhani Bux Goth and Bhittaiabad (25 seater).
IV) Baghdadi, Ali Hotel, Agra Taj, Nawa Lane, Kharadar and Tower (15 seater).
V) Lea Market, Chakiwara, Charib Shah, Lyari General Hospital, Sher Shah, Baldia and Mawach Goth (15 seater).
VI) Jublee Cinema, Usmanabad, Shoe Market, Garden, Golimar, Nazimabad, Lasbela, Orangi Town, Banaras and Manghopir Road (15 seater).
VII) Gurumandir, Teen Hatti, Laloo Khait, Ayesha Manzil, Water Pump, Al-Asif Square, New Karachi, Makka stop and Allah Wali (15 seater).
VIII) Patel Para, Goli Mar, Nazimabad, Hyderi, Sakhi Hassan, Shadman, Nagan Chowrangi and Surjani Town (25 seater)
IX) GOR-II, Malir Halt, Bhain Colony More, Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase-I, II, Star Gate, Quaidabad and Nasirabad (15 seater)
X) Memon Goth and Ghazi Town, Kala Board and Malir 15 (15 seater)
