Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Tuesday introduced a bill in the National Assembly seeking de-weaponisation of the country.
The bill, The De-weaponisation of Pakistan bill, 2011, was jointly moved by 23 parliamentarians of MQM and was referred to concerned standing committee for further consideration and a report.
The bill suggested minimum seven years of imprisonment and Rs 100 million for the violator. De-weaponization Bill 2011, sought to curb the illegal production, trade and use of arms, Dr Abdul Kadir Khanzada informed the National Assembly while introducing the bill.
He said in the wake of increasing law and order problem control over illegal weapon was necessary.
