Messages of condolence kept pouring after the news of Akbar Wahidi’s death spread in the sports circles. Chairman PCB Ijaz Butt, Chairperson PCB Women Wing Mrs Bushra Aitazaz, and PCB COO Subhan Ahmad extended their deepest condolences to the family of Akber Wahidi. The sports associations of the country SJAL, SWAP, SJAS, and RISJA termed his death a great loss.
PFF Officials also expressed immense sadness and shock after Akber Wahidi’s sudden demise. PFF President Faisal Saleh Hayat, General Secretary Col (Retd) Ahmedyar Khan Lodhi, and Director Operations Wing Commander (Retd) Pervez Saeed Mir fondly recalled his enthusiasm for the game and prayed for the departed soul and his grieving family. They prayed to Allah Almighty to bless his soul and give strength to his family members to bear the great loss.
