Ahmed Pervez was born in Rawalpindi in 1926. He was one of the most remarkable artists produced by Pakistan and received widespread acclaim at home and abroad.
From his first solo exhibition in 1952 to his last in 1979, he passed through many phases as a painter, but his work remained marked with energy.
Before 1972, he spent about 12 years in Britain and exhibited successfully all over Europe; and also two years in the USA, where his exhibition in Galerie Internationale, New York, was very well received.
He received the President’s Medal for Pride of Performance in 1978 and breathed his last the next year.
