The Sindh chief minister is pushing the authorities concerned of the federal government to take concrete measures for improving the performance of the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), Sindh Electric Power Minister and Adviser on Oil and Gas Shazia Marri said on Sunday.
“The Sindh government is fully aware of how much agony the people of the province are in, especially in Karachi, due to the prolonged hours of power load shedding,” she said while speaking to the media at the children’s swimming competition arranged by Karachi Gymkhana.
Marri also distributed prizes among the winners of the swimming championship.
Marri said that the chief minister has made all-out efforts to ensure an adequate supply of gas and furnace oil to the KESC so that load shedding is reduced as much as possible.
Speaking on the Punjab chief minister’s minister on the creation of a province in Sindh by the name of Karachi, she criticised the Punjab provincial chief executive and said that he should look after the politics of his own province and take measures for betterment of people there.
Marri said that when the country is passing through a very tough phase of its history, our political leadership has to work to strengthen the country.
Marri lauded the services of Karachi Gymkhana Club and said that arranging a swimming championship for children was a good example for other social clubs to follow.
She said that Karachi Gymkhana also has the honour that President Asif Ali Zardari has been its active member.
Later, the minister distributed certificates and trophies among the winners.
Karachi Gymkhana President Ali Raheem, Vice President Dr Zahid Ansari and Convener Abdul Razzak Chhotani presented a shield to the minister.
