Fire engulfs restaurants in DHA

Four fire incidents were reported in the city on Monday. In the first incident, valuables worth thousands of rupees reduced to ashes when seven cylinders at adjacent hotels exploded in a market in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Phase-II on Monday. Fire erupted at a hotel owned by Waqar Malik when a cylinder blasted owing to gas leakage. Fire engulfed the entire hotel and resulted in explosion of more cylinders in two adjoining hotels.
The locals informed Rescue 1122 Fire Service, who extinguished fire after a four-hour effort. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident. In the second incident, three people were injured when fire erupted as a gas cylinder exploded owing to gas leakage in Lytton Road police precincts on Monday. The injured were identified as Nazir, 35, son of Latif, Bilal, 22, son of Tariq and Bilal, 15, son of Sajid, residents of Lytton Road.
The injured were rushed to a hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger. Rescue 1122 Fire Service extinguished the fire.
In the third and fourth incidents, fire erupted at two separate houses in different areas of the city owing to short-circuiting. It resulted in the loss of valuables worth thousands of rupees. Fire erupted in Ghulam Abbas’s house in Sabzazar and in Imad’s house in Jia Musa Shahdra.
