Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Monday granted post-arrest bail to Hassan Latif and cancelled interim bail of his accomplice Ahmed Bilal Anwar, accused of leaking the password of Warid Telecom easy load causing Rs 47.75 million loss to the company.
The LHC CJ also ordered the arrest of Anwar. Latif, in his bail application, submitted that Mubarak Hassan Cheema, senior executive security of Warid Telecom, had lodged a first information report (FIR) against them with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on December 21, 2010. He said that the complainant accused him of leaking the password of easy load transfer.
The accused said that he was implicated in the case on statement of main accused Anwar. Latif said that he works at Ericsson Mobile Company, which provides telecom services to Warid. He said that he was implicated in the case with mala fide intentions of some of his colleagues. The accused said that the password, which the complainant was accusing him of leaking, was in the knowledge of other 30 employees who could also leak it.
He said that instead of involving other employees into the investigation, investigators arrested him after implicating him in a fake case. Latif said that he moved bail application before a Lahore Sessions judge who dismissed it on January 29. He requested the court to grant him bail for having no link with the case.
