The federal government is not solely responsible for the present situation as the provincial governments have an equal role in aggravating citizens’ miseries, Pakistan People’s Party leader Aitzaz Ahsan said on Monday. Talking to reporters at the Lahore High Court, Aitzaz said frustration among the citizens was increasing because of unemployment and inflation.
Commenting on the Mukhtaran Mai case, he said that a review petition would be filed soon, adding that Justice Nasirul Mulk, one of the judges on the bench, had written a dissenting note in the judgment and he would make this point a basis for his argument. Aiztaz did not comment on Javed Hashmi’s statement against his party leadership, saying it was an internal matter of the PML-N.
