‘All resources to be utilised to serve highway commuters’

Every effort will be made and all resources utilised to bring discipline on national highways and provide quality assistance to commuters, National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) N-5 Central Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Fateh Sher Joiya said on Monday while accusing charge of his office. On arrival of the DIG at the Zonal Office Lahore, a guard of honour was presented to him. Afterwards, Joiya visited various branches of the N-5 Central zonal office. The DIG said that he feels proud to be a part of a force known for its honesty, dedication to duty, soft policing, quality help to distressed commuters and friendly dealing with violators.
He said that no compromise will be made in providing timely and effective help to distressed commuters especially during summer. The DIG stressed upon the need to install speed checking cameras at spots which are prone to accidents due to speeding of drivers. He instructed officers to specially brief and educate motorcyclists who are the most careless among all commuters. A briefing regarding performance of N-5 Central Zone, during the first quarter of the year, was also given to Joiya in a meeting with officers of the Zonal Office.
