Karachi University’s transportation problem

University of Karachi has a total number of 27 vehicles for student transportation, out of which 11 are out of order.

Most of the pupils of Karachi University belong to the middle class families and the public transport charges them 14 to 18 Rupees to reach from the homes to their destinations. Students prefer university transport over public transport because of their limited budget. In each of KU’s vehicles, there are 56 seats and 6 of the students even sit on the engine; but these vehicles entertain almost double the number of students than their actual capacity.

They are so over-loaded that one has to stand on the entrance gate of the point risking his or her life. I would like to request the concerned authorities to repair those 11 vehicles which are not in working condition, if they cannot afford to buy new ones before we lose any student in any unfortunate traffic accident.
