Newly appointed Punjab Health Secretary Muhammad Jehanzaib Khan talked to media at his office on Saturday and said that equal access to the health facilities was the basic right of every citizen and added that the government would ensure provision of best medical treatment to all the patients in public hospitals without any discrimination.
The Health Secretary said that a lot of work had been done for the development of health sector in Punjab. He said Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif had taken steps to make government hospitals patient friendly where free medicines were being provided to the patients in emergency as well as indoor patients’ department.
He said that new medical colleges and hospitals were being setup to accommodate the needs of the increasing population. He said further that a lot of work needed to be done in the health sector. Khan said further he would make efforts to improve the hospitals’ conditions so that every patient could get treated without any discrimination.
He said that the doctors, nurses and paramedics had a noble occupation and added that all the stakeholders would be taken on board and given due respect.
