Civil judge ends scuffle with lawyer

Civil Judge Sheikh Ahmed Saeed, who allegedly scuffled with a lawyer during court proceedings, reached a compromise on Saturday on intervention of some senior lawyers from the District Bar Sheikhupura.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) chief justice (CJ) had appointed Nankana District and Session Judge Syed Maroof Ali Shah as inquiry officer to probe into the matter and present a report. On Saturday, the inquiry of the incident took place at Canal Rest House in front of the Nankana district coordination officer (DCO) office. Both parties, including Sheikh Ahmed Saeed, his court staff and Ali Naqi Advocate along with Ahsan Mustafa Advocate were present before the session judge.
But former presidents of the Sheikhupura Bar Council including Ameer Afzal Advocate, Nawaz Hashmi Advocate, Noor Gujjar Advocate and Chaudhry Walliat Advocate intervened and played their role to reconcile between the two parties. Following their intervention, both parties agreed to compromise and announced to withdraw cases against each other. Saeed, after having a scuffle with Naqvi, was transferred to Sargodha. Following reconciliation between the two parties, the Sheikhupura District Bar had announced to give a farewell to Saeed on April 30 to applaud his four year service in Sheikhupura.
