‘Moin Akhtar’s demise is a great loss to performing arts’

A condolence meeting of the Executive Council of Cultural Association of Pakistan Graduates was held under the chairmanship of Patron in Chief Senator S.M Zafar at Lahore on Saturday April 23, 2011. Jameel Gishkori, Secretary General of the Assocation presented a condolence resolution which said that Moeen Akhtar was most popular actor of this country. He was a great performer, he said. During his 45 years of service to the performing arts industryhe acted in film,  radio, TV and stage and won appreciations from millions of his fans in and outside the country.
His performance in different roles had original shades of life which were very much appreciated by the viewers. He was not only a good actor but a good person in his private life, he said. His performances will be remembered for ever. Senator S.M Zafar while paying tribute to Moin Akhtar said that he was a wonderful artist and had a unique style of acting which was liked and appreciated by many. He said he showed extraordinary talent while acting in his various roles.
“He was a wonderful versatile actor and I don’t see another Moin Akhtar in the future,” he said. He added that he was a great compere and the most popular artist of two generations.. “His death is an irreparable loss in the field of performing arts,” he said. The meeting was attended by Begum Sarwat Shaheed Hameed, Khalid Ghiaz, M.Saeed Khan, Khawar Rafique, Zia Haider Rizvi, Jameel Gishkori, Yasmeen Saigol, Shahida Tahir, Khurshid Akhtar Khan and Qadeer Saigol.
