Swindlers looted a man, who was searching for his four-year-old missing daughter, while the Lahore Police have not been able to find any clue about the girl who was kidnapped by unidentified men from Children’s Hospital more than a year ago.
Parents of the minor girl, who are still looking for their beloved daughter, have tried to provide maximum assistance to investigators but police have not launched a proper probe yet.
According to details, Dua-e-Muntaha, a resident of Shalimar Town, was kidnapped by unidentified men on April 26, 2010 when she went to Children’s Hospital for a checkup. Dua had gone missing when her parents were busy getting an entry slip to get their girl checked.
Dua was with her mother Shaheen and father Manzar Zaheer Shahab. Her parents, after noticing the mishap, informed the hospital’s security staff and the police. Police and senior officials of the hospital administration reached the scene and assured Manzar and Shaheen of taking all possible measures to find their child.
In the first attempt, hospital administration officials went straight to the computer room of Children’s Hospital to see recordings of the CCTV cameras installed there. A case has been registered against unidentified men with the Naseerabad Police in this regard.
Parents of Dua told Pakistan Today that from the CCTV footage it was proved that Dua was kidnapped by a woman and man who escaped from the hospital using a door that was purely for use of the hospital administration.
Manzar said that this was quite surprising for them but he, without questioning, started following the case. Dua’s father claimed that he went to see the investigators, but after a few weeks, they got tired of him and stopped him from bothering them saying that they will inform him whenever they recovered the child.
He claimed that he filed several complaints to the Punjab CM, inspector general of the Punjab Police and Lahore capital city police officer (CCPO) but nothing happened. Tired of policemen’s behaviour, Manzar decided to search for his daughter on his own and got posters printed advertising about Dua and requesting people to contact him if anyone found any clue about her.
Manzar said after a few weeks, a man contacted him and claimed that he (caller) and his accomplices have kidnapped Dua. Manzar said that the caller demanded Rs 1 million for releasing Dua but agreed to release her for Rs 0.2 million. He said that the caller asked him to hand over the money at Wah Cantt. Manzar said that he worked according to their directions but the caller vanished after taking the money.
He said that he told police about the fraud and provided them with the mobile numbers from which he was contacted by the swindlers but police did nothing. Manzar said that the mobile numbers from which he had received calls are still working, on which he himself traced the details of the mobile numbers and again provided the data to investigators but they did nothing again.
Manzar claimed that after registration of the case, he went to Children’s Hospital and found a few officials of the hospital to be suspicious. He said that he requested investigators to investigate the suspicious staff but policemen were stopped from investigating by the influential hospital administration.
The girl’s father once again requested the Punjab CM and inspector general of the Punjab Police to look into the matter and help him finding his daughter.
Shaheen Bibi, mother of Dua, also requested the CM to take stern action against the kidnappers. Dua’s mother said that she had six children and Dua was the youngest. Shaheen said that a few days before her kidnapping, Dua was injured after falling from a motorcycle.
She said that her health was not good and deteriorating day by day. Shaheen said that she was cursing the day she decided to get her daughter checked from Children’s Hospital. Dua’s mother claimed that she had not slept properly since her girl went missing.
