Special drive against traffic violators

The Traffic Police of Karachi will launch a special drive against traffic violators specially Public Service Vehicles from April 25.
This was decided at a meeting held at Darkshan Police Station, Clifton Town on the initiative of an NGO – Police Reforms Initiative (PRI) on Saturday. The meeting was attended amongst others by Consultant on
Planning, Policing, Public Relatives and Home Affairs, Sharfuddin Memon, CCPO Karachi Saud Ahmed, DIGP South Zone Iqbal Mehmood and DIGP, Traffic Khurram Gulzar.
The campaign will commence from Clifton Town including DHA and Clifton Cantonment Board areas and then will be extended other parts of the city.
“Campaign is aimed to ease out traffic congestion and curb traffic violations,” it was further maintained.
During the campaign, Karachi traffic police would also ensure that public transport should stop at the designated bus stops only for pick and drop and that the violations like overspeeding, overloading misuse of ladies compartments and use of pressure horns will be fined.
The Consultant on Home Affairs also discussed expeditious completion of an ongoing parking project at ‘Khada Market’ in DHA.
