Rescue 1122 walks to ‘rescue’ Mother Earth

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) commemorated “Rescue Mother Earth” at all Central Rescue Stations throughout Punjab on Friday.. The walk aimed at making joint efforts to develop safer communities to tackle  climatic changes and save Mother Earth by creating awareness amongst the general public about the impact of environmental pollution due to excessive energy consumption.
Central “Rescue Mother Earth” walk started from Rescue 1122 Head quarters. Punjab Group of colleges’ volunteer club, Punjab University, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Forman Christian College, World Wildlife Federation, UFONE Girls Guide Association, civil society members, Rescue volunteers, government and other institution also participated in the walk under the slogan “Lets Rescue the Mother Earth”.
Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer said community participation in the Earth Awareness Walk was a symbol of ownership by the community and added that if joint efforts were not made on a priority basis, the community would suffer various environmental disasters in the coming years.
Naseer praised rescuers and volunteers from various organizations for being part of the “Earth Walk” He said Rescue 1122 welcomed community volunteers to join hands with the Emergency Service for a safer Pakistan.
